College is hard. Trying to seek God' s will for your life in this new time can be even harder. There is no more youth group or church camp to help guide you through the ups and downs of life. In the beginning, it can scary being in a whole new environment. Just hold on. God has a crazy exciting plan for you and it is all about to begin.
The biggest thing I learned while seeking God my first year of college is God will take you to amazing places if you ask Him. You see the thing is, He will never just push you into those places though. He wants you to take a step out of your comfort zone and one step closer to Him. It's almost as if God is saying the ball is in your court. He gave us His Son, His Word and His promises, and then He says now it is your turn to move. I also learned when God brings you out of your comfort zone, He has already prepared a new place for you. Going to college, I was scared. I was going to a school where I knew nobody, and I was three hours away from home. I knew I was going to make faith a priority in my life at school I just did not know how I was going to do it. Less than a day after being at my school, I was already being invited to come be a part of a church and a small group. I do not go to a Christian university, and this is not just a normal thing. So that Sunday, I went to church with a few people I did not know. Fast forward about a year, those same people and that same church are my anchor. They have become some of my best friends, and the church has become my home. God filled my life with people and a church I am very confident I would not have been able to find on my own, and that is the last of the biggest things God showed me my first year. It is not good to be alone. From the very beginning of time, God has revealed that it is not good for someone to go though life without a support system. Genesis 2:18 says "It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him." It is very easily to become isolated at college. It's kind of ironic since there are so many people at college, but becoming secluded happens a lot easier than you think. Humans are made to be in fellowship with one another. That is how community is built, discipleship is fostered, and love is shown. God does this funny thing where when we pray to Him for answers, but He gives us people instead. He places certain people in our life for the situations we are in. Be open to new friendships and relationships because you never know who God has placed to be an answer to your prayers. The amazing thing about this is that God wants to do that for you too. He has a plan and a path for every single one of you, and all of them are different, kind of like snowflakes. I am oh so expectant and excited for what God is going to do in your life. So, go ahead and step out of your comfort zone and into Him! -Morgan :)
